Key:

• S = Subject

• O = Object

• V1 = First form of the verb

• V2 = Second form of the verb

• V3 = Third form of the verb

• V-ing = -ing form of the verb

• Since = a starting point of time (since Monday, since 2020)

• For = a period of time (for two hours, for three days)

Use of Do,Does,is am are

Do → I, We, You, They

Does → He, She, It

Examples:

Do you play?

She does not play.

Am, Is and Are

Am, Is and Are are forms of the verb “to be.”

They are used to show a state/condition or to form the Present Continuous Tense.

Am → I

Is → He, She, It

Are → We, You, They

Examples:

She is happy. → state

She is playing. → continuous action

Easy difference

Do/Does → help an action verb:

Does she play?

Am/Is/Are → show a state or join with -ing:

Is she happy? / Is she playing
